EVA Annual Appeal 2021

The Elmwood Village has served as a beacon and driving force behind the City of Buffalo's renewal through community programs and events that have become fixtures of our community. From the Elmwood-Bidwell Farmers Market, to the Tuesday night Summer Concert Series, to early incubees and partners the Elmwood Avenue Festival of the Arts, Buffalo Garden Walk, and most recently Buffalo Porchfest, the Elmwood Village is a vibrant place because we make it so together.

Beyond the community events that give Buffalo, and the Elmwood Village, a culture that sets us apart, the Elmwood Village Association has played a critical role in the preservation, restoration, and improvement of the buildings, sidewalks and public spaces that compose our community. Together, we envision an Elmwood Village that is not only a safe, clean, and walkable, but a vibrant, inclusive community that celebrates its history, roots and culture.

2020 didn't turn out the way that any of us had hoped. As restrictions were put into place to fight the coronavirus, in an attempt to keep our friends and families safe, we saw many of the events the EVA looks forward to bringing you every year cancelled. Despite seeing much of our season cancelled, in May 2020, the EVA organized the "Glass Ain't Cheap" fundraiser in response to widespread property damage, helping over 20 businesses repair broken windows. We successfully brought the Farmers Market back to the Elmwood Village for its 20th year, bringing owners, makers, and producers to Bidwell Parkway and providing much-needed access to fresh food, albeit this year in a safe and socially distanced manner.

But beyond the community events that give Buffalo, and the Elmwood Village, a culture that sets us apart, the Elmwood Village Association has played a critical role in the preservation, restoration, and improvement of the buildings, sidewalks and public spaces that compose our community. Together, we envision an Elmwood Village that is not only a safe, clean, and walkable, but a vibrant, inclusive community that celebrates its history, roots and culture.

Now, as we look to the future and hopefully prepare for a new year of programming, we come to you to ask for your financial support for the EVA's programs and activities. With your help, I know we can raise the $20,000 needed to bring these programs back in 2021.

The Elmwood Village Association is a 501(c) 3 community development non-profit serving the Elmwood Village and Buffalo, NY. No goods or services were exchanged in consideration of this contribution; therefore, the full amount of your gift is tax-deductible. Thank you!
