“Turkey has the strongest infrastructure in its region in terms of combatting forest fires”

Delivering remarks after visiting the areas in the Marmaris district of Muğla that were affected by forest fires, President Erdoğan said: 'Turkey has the strongest infrastructure in its region in terms of combatting forest fires.'

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan paid a visit to areas in the Marmaris district of Muğla that were affected by forest fires. After inspecting the areas, President Erdoğan delivered remarks.

Extending his sympathies and voiced his support to the local people due to the fires in Marmaris, Milas, Köyceğiz and Seydikemer districts, President Erdoğan said: 'After the efforts to extinguish the fires and cool the areas, damage assessments have immediately been made. According to these assessments, steps will at once be taken regarding houses, barns and commercial areas.'

'TURKEY HAS THE STRONGEST INFRASTRUCTURE IN ITS REGION IN TERMS OF COMBATTING FOREST FIRES'

Regarding the cause of the fires, President Erdoğan said: 'As I said in Manavgat, after the leaders of the terrorist organization gave instructions last year to burn forests, the areas affected by forest fires in our country doubled. We are not ruling out the possibility that some of these fires could have been started as a result of a similar instruction.'

'Turkey has the strongest infrastructure in its region in terms of combatting forest fires,' President Erdoğan underlined.
