Aboitiz Construction achieves over 5 Million safe man hours across different project sites

Aboitiz Construction has achieved a safety milestone of 2.1 million safe man-hours without a lost-time incident for a project in Philippine Coastal Storage and Pipeline Corporation (PCSPC) in Subic Bay Freeport Zone, Zambales from the period of December 2018 to March 2021 and 3 million safe manhours without lost-time injury for the ongoing Tecnimont and JGC Philippines Joint Ventures (TJJV) project in Brgy. Pinamucan Ibaba, Batangas City for the period of January 2019 to March 2021.

'These achievements prove that we are committed towards safety and we value teamwork in delivering quality output for our customers. We are doing our best to adhere to the safety standards set by the company, Department of Labor and Employment, and the client'said Alex Garciano, Vice President for Construction Operations of Aboitiz Construction.

In order to promote safety in the workplace, both sites have been conducting a series of precautionary and preventive drills, safety awareness training, site inspections and audits, checking of personal protective equipment and tool box meetings to discuss safety matters.

Moreover, it is being ensured that team members on all project sites are strictly following health and safety protocolsto prevent the spread of COVID-19 such as checking of body temperatures before entering the sites, social distancing in shuttles, and disinfecting the office and vehicles. The imposition of these protocols are a testament to the commitment of Aboitiz Construction to uphold safety culture and execution excellence in the workplace.

Aboitiz Construction is the maincontractor in the design and construction of PCSPC's fuel storage and related facilities for Maritan Tank Farm Phase 3 expansion including the additional ground works preparation for the next phase which were all completed last March 2021.More than 500 skilled workers and professionals were hired for this project including subcontractors.

Meanwhile, Aboitiz Construction is the subcontractor for the construction of the JG-Summit Stage 1, expansion project of TJJV with more than 800 general workers and staff from Aboitiz Construction. The Project started last January 2019 and is expected to be completed this year.
