Jakarta, 27 March 2024: The Ministry of Commerce of the Kingdom of Thailand has nominated Dr Puntil Jongjittrakoon, the Vice Minister for Commerce, as the new ERIA Governor representing Thailand. He will be taking over the position previously held by Dr Sansern Samalapa, who served on the Governing Board since 2020.

In addition to his position as the Vice Minister for Commerce, Dr Jongjittrakoon has also been serving as an Advisor for R&B Food Supply Public Company Limited, Totsatis Media Co., Ltd., and Reignwood International Co., Ltd. He also holds the honorary position as an Advisor to the Mayor of Rangsit City Municipality and is the President of Pathumthani E-Sport Association. In his early career, he served as the Managing Director of PJ Phuket Property Co., Ltd. and Heng Shan De Culture and Media Co., Ltd.

His expertise in technology, finance, fintech, and blockchain brings varied contributions while his advocacy for youth perspectives is expected to offer diverse viewpoints. He has also been actively contributing to other fields by organising an e-sport competition and founding the Beijing ASEAN Students' Game.

Dr Puntil Jongjittrakoon holds a Doctoral Degree in Philosophy International Trade and Investment from the Beijing University of International Business and Economic, Beijing, China. He completed the graduate program in Economics International Trade in 2012 at Beijing University, China and graduated in 2008 with a bachelor's degree in Chinese from Srinakharinwirot University, Thailand.
