Work on the development of the Marine Engineer Trailblazer Apprenticeship has progressed with the publication of the Marine Engineer Apprenticeship Standard, which can be viewed here. The End Point Assessment Plan, that accompanies the new Apprenticeship Standard, has been produced by the trailblazer employer group and has been released for industry consultation. The draft assessment plan can be accessed here.
The End Point Assessment Plan outlines the requirements for determining whether a marine engineer has attained the required competence at the end of the apprenticeship. The assessment plan is of use to apprentices, employers and independent assessment organisations who are contracted by employers to undertake the assessments.
The industry consultation is a requirement in the production and publication of the apprenticeship documentation on the GOV.UK website. The consultation gives those working within the marine industry the opportunity to have a say and contribute to the way the new apprenticeship standards are delivered and assessed.
If you are interested in taking part in this consultation process, please contact Chris Holmes at [email protected] or 01784 223638.
The consultation period ends on Tuesday 21 February 2017.
