February 2024 U.S. Airline Traffic Data Up 8.6% from the Same Month Last Year

passengers in February 2024, according to the Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS). When adjusted for seasonality, February enplanements are up 1.3% from January and reached a new all-time high the all-time high reached in February 2024.

BTS reported 61 million domestic passengers and 9.4 million international passengers on U.S. airlines flights in February, not adjusting for seasonality.

Two measures of U.S. airlines passenger enplanements

February seasonally adjusted

• Systemwide enplanements (82.4M) reached a new all-time, seasonally-adjusted, high based on data through February 2024.
• Domestic enplanements (71.2M) were down 0.1% from the all-time high of 71.3 million reached in November 2023.
• International enplanements (11.17M) reached a new all-time, seasonally-adjusted, high based on data through February 2024.

February unadjusted

• Systemwide enplanements (70.4M) reached a new all-time high for the month of February.
• Domestic enplanements (61M) reached a new all-time high for the month of February.
• International enplanements (9.4M) were up 16.4% from the all-time February high (8.07) reached in 2023.
