Alumni Earn Award at Florida Film Festival

LIVONIA, MICH. - Several Madonna University alumni from the broadcast and cinema arts (BCA) and the music programs showcased their work at the Florida Film Festival and walked away with the esteemed Audience Award for Narrative Feature. Congratulations to Nancy Boyd ('18), director; Meghan Griesbeck ('18), producer; Davis Clenney ('18), colorist; Brett Wheat ('11), production assistant; and music major Jacob Eliett ('17), production sound mixer. These alumni poured their hearts into creating the film Lady Parts, a dramedy film about vaginal health care.

The Audience Award, determined by those who attended the screenings of the film, underscores the exceptional quality and impact of their film in a fiercely-competitive, global arena. "We trust this accolade marks just the beginning for these filmmakers," said Suzanne Boyd, BCA program director.

Bonnie Gross, the film's executive producer and screenwriter, also earned the Florida Film Festival's Special Jury Award for Screenwriting, for Lady Parts!
