BISMARCK - The Heartview Foundation announced this week the appointment of three Dickinson-area members to its board of directors. Senator Rich Wardner, Michael Riesinger, and Vaune Johnson were appointed to a three-year term. This brings the total number of board members to 12, six members from Bismarck, three from Cando, N.D., and three from Dickinson.

The new board members were appointed in conjunction with Heartview's announced construction of a 16-bed residential treatment facility in Dickinson for adults with substance use disorders.

"Heartview is privileged to have an excellent board of directors to set the direction for the organization, and expanding to Dickinson is part of that vision," said Kurt Snyder, Heartview Foundation's executive director. "The three members being added from Dickinson are passionate about Heartview Foundation's mission and come to the organization with a wealth of expertise which will serve Heartview well in its work in Dickinson and the broader state."

"Heartview has always been a community-based organization," said Heartview Foundation Board President Lance Schreiner. "With the addition of these new board members, we hope to receive their valuable input and insight as we offer state-of-the-art addiction services to Dickinson."

Senator Rich Wardner has served the Dickinson area as a legislator since 1991 and has served as Senate Majority Leader for the past decade. He is a retired educator, coach and formerly served as executive director of the Dickinson Area Chamber of Commerce.

Michael Riesinger is well-known in the business community as an entrepreneur and dedicated volunteer. He was the founder of R&W Real Estate and BrickHouse Grille and has been involved in the Downtown Dickinson Association and Downtown Dickinson Task Force for many years. He is currently the sales director for a regional distribution company and owns a consulting firm.

Vaune Johnson, CPA, recently retired from her position as Dickinson market president. She previously held various financial roles at American Bank Center, Kovash and Dasocik, PC, and West River Special Services Unit. She also serves on the board of the Greater North Dakota Chamber of Commerce and North Dakota Board of Medicine and is treasurer of the Stark County JDA.
