A Project 14 Years in the Making

In case you missed it, we had a win in our fight for clean water last week. After 14 years, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers finally completed construction of the C-44 Reservoir in Martin County.

Originally authorized by Congress in 2007, this project is crucial in keeping toxic water out of the St. Lucie River. It will capture, store and clean stormwater and runoff as opposed to sending it straight into places like the St. Lucie River and Indian River Lagoon.

This is big news for Florida's Treasure Coast, but we still have a long way to go. I'll continue to fight to stop toxic discharges and send more water south!
