Clermont County: Construction update
CLERMONT COUNTY: Weekly Construction Update
Through the week ending May 4, 2024: The following traffic advisory includes restrictions on the state highway system in Clermont County. All work will be contingent upon the weather. EASTERN CORRIDOR PROJECTSS.R. 32/Glen Este-Withamsville (GEW) Overpass - Construction of the GEW Road overpass bridge at the intersection with S.R. 32, as well as construction of a modified off-ramp from westbound S.R. 32 to GEW. The intersection has been closed to both north and southbound GEW Road, and traffic is being re-routed by way of the interchanges on S.R. 32 to the east and west. Traffic on S.R. 32 is being maintained through the work zone; however, intermittent lane restrictions may be in effect during hours of operations. S.R. 32/Bach Buxton Interchange - Construction of an interchange at the intersection of S.R. 32 and Bach Buxton Road/Elick Lane and widening of S.R. 32 West between the new interchange and Glen Este-Withamsville (GEW) Road. All ramps of the new interchange are open to traffic, and the at-grade intersections between Old SR 74 and Glen Este-Withamsville Road have been closed. In addition to construction of a third, westbound lane on S.R. 32, finishing work, including signage and pavement markings, continues at the interchange. S.R. 32 West Realignment - Realignment of westbound S.R. 32, between the Glen Este-Withamsville Road intersection and the I-275 interchange, to re-establish three, thru-lanes and realignment of the ramp from westbound S.R. 32 to southbound I-275. Intermittent lane restrictions may be in effect during evening and overnight hours. |
NEW IMPACTS
S.R. 32 West Pavement Repairs - Restrictions will be in effect on westbound S.R. 32 at the Bach Buxton Road interchange and overpass for pavement work. S.R. 32 West will be closed during the overnight hours Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, April 29 and 30 and May 1, from 11 p.m. to 4 a.m. Traffic will be detoured by way of the Bach Buxton interchange, and traffic will be controlled at the signals with law enforcement officers.
S.R. 132/222 Roundabout - At the routes' junction immediately north of S.R. 32 in Batavia. Retaining wall construction is under way, and traffic is being maintained on temporary and existing pavement on both routes in 11-foot lanes. Additional traffic impacts will be in effect throughout construction, and the entire project is scheduled for completion in the fall of 2024.
U.S. 50/S.R. 132 Intersection Improvement - Project by the Clermont County TID to construction turn lanes, sidewalk, storm sewer, curb and curb ramps and upgrade the traffic signals at the intersection in the village of Owensville. Restrictions will go into effect Monday, May 6, and S.R. 132 will be closed between its northbound junction with U.S. 50 (Main Street) and Walnut Street through mid-July. Thru-traffic motorists will be detoured via S.R. 131 and U.S. 50. The project is anticipated to be completed in November 2024.
U.S. 50 Culvert Replacement - Between Dry Run Road and Owens Lane. U.S. 50 will be closed Monday through Thursday, May 6-9, and traffic will be detoured via S.R. 450, I-275, S.R. 32, S.R. 132 and S.R. 222.
CONTINUING IMPACT
C.R. 171 (Old SR 74) Reconstruction - Between Schoolhouse Road and Springfield Court. Construction continues within the work zone; however, Old 74 is open between Dogwood Road and Elick Lane. Traffic will be maintained with the use of flaggers as needed during hours of operation. All associated work is scheduled to be completed in late summer or early fall of 2024.
S.R. 133 Culvert Replacements - At two locations between Rudd Lane (north of S.R. 774 and the village of Felicity) and Mt. Olive-Point Isabel Road. A 30-day closure is in effect between Rudd Lane and Beech/Swope Road through mid-May. This will be followed by a 30-day closure between Beech/Swope and Mt. Olive-Point Isabel roads. During periods of closure, traffic will be detoured by way of S.R. 756, S.R. 222, S.R. 232 and S.R. 125.
S.R. 133 Resurfacing - Between S.R. 32 at Williamsburg and S.R. 131, east of Newtonsville. In the section between U.S. 50 and S.R. 131, traffic on northbound S.R. 133 will be maintained with the use of flaggers, and southbound S.R. 133 motorists will be detoured by way of S.R. 131 and U.S. 50. The directional closure is anticipated to be in effect through mid-August. In the section between U.S. 50 and S.R. 32, two-way traffic will be maintained by flaggers. The entire project is scheduled to be completed in late fall.
