Supports a commitment to opening opportunities for diverse talent in STEM-related fields through leadership growth, development and mentorship.

Avnet is extending its sponsorship of Women in Electronics (WE), a nonprofit organization dedicated to the professional and personal development of women in the electronics industry. By supporting the growth and personal development of women in electronics through WE, Avnet is further advancing its Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) goals by helping women at all stages of their careers access opportunities such as leadership training programs, speakers, content, and networking opportunities.

"Avnet recognizes how emphasizing diversity creates inclusion and innovation in the industry," says Phil Gallagher, CEO of Avnet. "Every day is a new opportunity to collaborate and courageously share perspectives that open up new opportunities to advance women in electronics. We are absolutely pleased to continue our support to the critical advancement of diversity, equity and inclusion in the workplace."

"The team at Women in Electronics could not be more honored to have the support of Avnet, as we unite in the mission to expand the opportunities for women in the electronics industry," says CEO of Women in Electronics, Jackie Mattox. "It all starts from the top with leaders like Phil Gallagher and the Avnet leadership team, who have placed a focus and investment towards gender parity and systemic change. We are thrilled to be able to offer more programs and resources as a result of their generous contribution, which benefits not only their own talent, but the entire industry."

Opened to all members through an application process, the WE program provides mentees access to leadership training, skill development, and relationship building tactics that are designed to empower women to reach the next level of their career while also offering both the mentor and mentee clear goals, progression, and continuity. Fueled by authenticity, courage, and commitment, WE's main objective is to advocate, develop, empower, and celebrate women in the current fast-paced electronics industry.
