In September 2017 the Washington, DC community lost a long time public servant and the animals of the nation's capital lost a champion when Ray Noll, then Vice President of Field Services for the Humane Rescue Alliance, passed away at the age of 55.
To honor Ray's life-saving work and to celebrate the impact he had on our team, HRA has launched the 'Ray Noll Memorial Scholarship' to provide support to HRA staff who want to develop and grow as powerful people, and as animal welfare professionals.
'Ray's impact on DC and HRA was immeasurable,' said Lisa LaFontaine. 'He was so strongly committed to the development and advancement of his colleagues, and thinking of how much he celebrated their successes, I can think of no better way to honor Ray.'
The scholarship selection committee has announced the first honorees - congratulations to Chelsea Bacote, Nicole Jakstas, and Deven Roney! Chelsea will use her scholarship towards her veterinary nurse degree at Purdue University; Nicole will use hers towards her veterinary technician license at Penn Foster College; and Deven will use his scholarship for a training course offered through the International Academies of Emergency Dispatch. #teamHRA
