VMware Skyline now available for Cloud Provider partners

We are glad to announce that VMware Skyline (Skyline) - our proactive support solution - is now available to all our Cloud Provider partners through our Cloud Partner Navigator (CPN) portal.

Why Skyline?

All VMware Partner Connect partners with a valid VMware Cloud Provider Program agreement currently are eligible for Production Support. Starting January 27, this includes access to VMware Skyline.

With Skyline, you can now transform support operations from reactive, break/fix to a proactive, predictive, and prescriptive experience that produces an even greater return on your VMware support investment with no additional cost.

Avoid Unplanned IT Downtime with Faster Resolution Time

VMware Skyline is a proactive support service that helps users and organizations prevent issues by quickly identifying and analysing your IT environment. VMware Skyline securely collects, aggregates, and analyses product usage data and proactively identifies potential problems. With Skyline Log Assist, you can reduce your time and effort spent on uploading log requests that helps VMware Technical Support in improving the resolution time.

Get Deeper Insights and Smarter Recommendations

With Skyline Advisor you have a comprehensive view of your environment with account details, inventory details, findings discovered by VMware Skyline, proactive recommendations, options to download Operational Summary Reports (OSR), and transfer support bundles using Skyline Log Assist. Skyline helps you keep track of your raised support requests. The service also alerts you which products go End of Life. VMware Technical Support Engineers have a similar view off the information, providing an enhanced customer support experience and helping conversations around troubleshooting.

Data Security

VMware exercises rigorous privacy and security of data. VMware Skyline has a robust privacy program, it is SOC 2 & ISO certified and transmits product usage data securely over an encrypted channel and is stored in a secure VMware repository in the US using data centers maintained by VMware and AWS-hosted services managed by VMware. Supported Products

We are continually working on integrating more and more products with Skyline. The solution currently supports the following products:

  • VMware vSphere
  • VMware NSX
  • VMware vSAN
  • VMware vRealize Operations
  • VMware vRealize Automation
  • VMware Cloud Foundation.

In addition, Skyline also identifies VxRail, and VMware validated Design deployments.

Getting Started

Skyline is now available under "Services Available for Provisioning" on Cloud Partner Navigator. To start using it, enable the service like any other Cloud Partner Navigator service.

If you are a VCPP rental partner and you currently don't have a Cloud Partner Navigator account, follow the onboarding instructions in the VMware Commerce Portal documentation to create your Cloud Partner Navigator organization.
