October 31, 2019

(Philadelphia, October 4, 2019)-Get into the Halloween spirit this October as The Philadelphia Orchestra presents two spooky programs full of ghoulish favorites. Guest conductor Aram Demirjian will lead the Orchestra in the annual Halloween Spooktacular Family Concert-an orchestral adventure featuring a monster mashup of iconic cinematic and classically creepy treats for the whole family-on Saturday, October 26, 2019, at 11:30 AM in Verizon Hall at the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts. In addition to seeing Orchestra musicians perform in costume, audience members are encouraged to show up in their Halloween best for a chance to win the Orchestra's costume contest.

The Phantom of the Opera provides the dramatic backdrop as Philadelphia's own Peter Richard Conte, known for his performances on the legendary Wanamaker Organ, performs the dramatic soundtrack to the classic 1925 silent film on the Fred J. Cooper Memorial Organ. This bone-chilling experience will take place on Thursday, October 31, 2019, at 7:30 PM in Verizon Hall. Following the concert, audience members are invited to lie down on stage to feel the vibrations of the Fred J. Cooper Memorial Organ, culminating a truly spine-tingling experience. The concert is part of the Fred J. Cooper Memorial Organ Experience, supported through a generous grant from the Wyncote Foundation. Please note: The Philadelphia Orchestra does not perform on this concert.

Tickets can be purchased online at www.philorch.org, by phone at 215.893.1999, or at the Kimmel Center Box Office. Prices and availability vary by concert.

Known for his performances on the legendary Wanamaker Organ, Peter Richard Conte is master of the keyboard for this special Halloween presentation.
