PulteGroup’s West Florida Division Named #1 Best Place to Work by Tampa Bay Business Journal
West Florida division receives top rating among largest companies in region
TAMPA, May 13, 2021 - The West Florida Division of PulteGroup has received one of the highest honors a local business can receive from the Tamp Bay Business Journal. The publication has named it the top 2021 Best Place to Work among companies with more than 100 employees.
This is the fifth time making the list, but the first time claiming the number one spot.
'I could not be prouder of our employees, especially following such a difficult year. I see every day how they treat each other with respect, honesty and care, and truly enjoy working together,' said Sean Strickler, president of the West Florida Division of PulteGroup. 'This award shows their commitment to our main priorities - customer experience, quality, culture and financial goals.'
The Business Journal selected Pulte after receiving anonymous surveys from the homebuilder's employees and comparing them to results for other large companies. The publication measured team effectiveness, retention rate, alignment with goals, trust with co-workers, individual contributions, manager effectiveness, trust in senior leaders, feeling valued, work engagement and people practices.
Pulte was selected first among 15 employers in the extra-large company category. The company was honored at a ceremony on April 21st.
'Our company's founder, Bill Pulte, believed that people are our most important asset. We have embraced that philosophy since we opened our West Florida office in 2015,' Strickler said. 'Having worked for Pulte for 27 years, this past year throughout the pandemic was one of the most challenging yet, so this award is particularly meaningful to me. I want our employees to know that I value each and every one of them and appreciate their contributions to our team.'
The West Florida Division of Pulte Group is the third largest builder in the Tampa Bay area with nearly 30 communities stretching from Pasco County, through Pinellas and Hillsborough to North Manatee County and Lakeland. They are offered under the brands Pulte, Del Webb and Centex.
