Catoctin Mountain Park announces temporary closures March 29 – 31, 2024

Thurmont, Md. - Due to increased security measures, portions of Catoctin Mountain Park will be closed at approximately 10 a.m. on Friday, March 29. Closures are scheduled to continue through approximately 6 p.m. on Sunday, March 31, 2024.

Park Central Road will be closed between Thurmont Vista and the Camp Greentop entrance. Trails to Hog Rock Overlook and Blue Ridge Summit Vista will be closed. All other roads and trails will remain open.

Parking lots at the visitor center will be open but may fill up early in the day. Additional parking is available on the west side of the park at Camp Round Meadow and Owens Creek picnic area.
