French-speaking African Customs Officers from the Belgian Customs School supplement their programme with a visit to the WCO Secretariat

A group of French-speaking Customs officers from selected administrations in the East and South Africa and the West and Central Africa (WCA) regions, currently at the Belgian Customs School (BCS), were able to meet, during a visit to WCO Headquarters on 11th May 2022, the Director of Capacity Building and the WCA Regional Development Manager. These exchanges offered the opportunity to address topics, such as capacity building and regional specificities. Participants then had the opportunity to test the virtual reality training module, which is being demonstrated at the WCO.

During the year 2021 - 2022, the trainees received, in addition to the BCS's teaching programme, training and information sessions on current topics and instruments developed by the WCO, that are of particular interest to African Customs. The partnership between the WCO and the BCS has intensified this year, to the benefit of these Customs interns from the African continent.
