KANSAS - The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) today announced more than $29 million in grants to the State of Kansas for Community Planning and Development activities, ranging from the development of affordable housing to expanding economic opportunity for people with low and moderate incomes.
Today's grant is part of $6.3 billion to U.S. states, local entities of government, and U.S. territories through HUD's Fiscal Year 2022 CPD Formula Grant Program. In addition to the grants to the State of Kansas, Wichita received a direct grant of $4.8 million. View a complete list of all the communities who received funding.
"This funding invests in our communities and provides vital services for some of Kansas's at-risk residents." said Regional Administrator Ulysses M. Clayborn. "HUD's local partners will use these resources to increase housing supply, expand economic opportunity, and raise up families in Kansas".
