Save Time: Use Online Self-Service Tools

Health Net Federal Services, LLC (HNFS) offers online self-service tools to help you find important health care information. While some tools are open to all, you'll need to log in to access secure tools such as "Check Authorization Status" and "Manage My Payment." Self-service tools are a great option, especially on days when call center hold times may be higher than normal.

To access secure tools, you should use your Department of Defense Self-Service Logon (DS Logon). If you're unable to get a DS Logon, you can register for a unique HNFS username and password.

• Get a DS Logon through the My Access Center. Most HNFS secure tools require a premium DS Logon. You'll get this automatically if you used your Common Access Card (CAC) to get a DS Logon. Otherwise, you can upgrade through the Defense Manpower Data Center (DMDC) My Access Center.
• For those unable to get a DS Logon, get a unique HNFS username and password by clicking "Register" at the top of the HNFS website. This option allows you to create an account so you can see your personal information but should only be used if you aren't able to get a DS Logon. If you've already signed in using your DS Logon, you won't be able to register for a unique HNFS username and password.

Once logged in, you can access authorization letters, review explanations of benefits (EOB), check claim status, review status of outstanding authorizations, and more. Remember, HNFS doesn't mail authorization letters or individual EOBs. Access these documents through your secure inbox. Don't forget to set your preferences so you can receive text or email notifications when authorizations or claims have processed.
