Olympia Council Declares May Asian American, Native Hawaiian, Pacific Islanders Heritage Month

On Tuesday, the Olympia City Council unanimously proclaimed May as Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islanders Heritage Month, and encouraged Olympians to observe, recognize and celebrate the culture, heritage and contributions of these communities to our country, our state and our city.

The City, in partnership with the Asian Pacific Islander Coalition of South Puget Sound and South Puget Sound Community College, will host a celebration 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 11, 2024. The Asian Pacific American Heritage Month celebration will be held at South Puget Sound Community College, Lacey campus, (4220 6TH Avenue SE, Lacey) with performances, food vendors, arts, crafts, resource tables and free activities for the entire family.
