Women's Track and Field Opens at Princeton

PRINCETON, N.J.- Eastern University Women's Track and Field opened the season with an un-scored meet against mostly Division I competition at Princeton University. The Eagles posted several solid results and the many new individuals made their collegiate debuts in the event.

How It Happened:
With the middle-distance and distance squad off to recover from cross country and coming off the soccer season, the Eagles ran with a partial squad through the day.

made finals and posted a very solid early-season 8.13 in the 60 Meter Dash. set a new school record in the Weight Throw as she, Brigette Smith, and all qualified for MAC Championships in the event.

started her indoor season where she left off outside with a 3.10 meter pole vault, and ran a strong 1:01.68 to take second in the 400 meter dash. finished fourth. The Eagles ran a pair of 4x400 Meter Relay teams to finish the day.

Coach Falvo Says:
'Today was a good day for our Women's team. With a huge number of collegiate best performers, I felt our women's team did a good job. A total team effort by our women's team today. I was impressed by the grit they showed today. We will need to continue to improve upon the little things in our technique as we continue through our indoor season. However, they laid a solid foundation for what is to come. I am excited for what is to come for our women as we move through this indoor season '

The Eagles are off for finals and the Christmas holiday. The whole team will be back in action at Lehigh on Jan. 8.
