Transit Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating a stabbing at the Bayswater Railway Station last month.
Police have been told a male victim waiting for a train was approached by an unknown man who began to yell at him about 4.30pm on 21 April.
The offender then lunged at the victim and a physical altercation ensued.
During the scuffle, the victim was stabbed in the leg, before the offender left the scene.
He was last seen on foot in the vicinity of the Mountain Highway and High Street.
The victim, a 30-year-old man, was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The offender is perceived to be Caucasian in appearance, aged in his 40s, about 180cm tall with a medium build and short dark hair.
He was wearing a black, red and white sports jacket and polo underneath, as well as blue jeans.
Police have released CCTV and images of a man who they believe may be able to assist with enquiries.
