Ohio's 529 Plan, CollegeAdvantage, is proud to partner with the Columbus Blue Jackets Foundation to present Book Jackets at Home. For several years now, Ohio's 529 Plan has sponsored Book Jackets to encourage Central Ohio kindergarten - 8th grade students to spend time reading, sharpen their scholastic skills, and receive prizes from the Columbus Blue Jackets, including tickets to a future game.
To best support local families and encourage reading during the summer, the Book Jackets at Home contest has been extended! You now have until Monday, Aug. 31, to submit the number of minutes your child has read. It's easy to register for the Book Jackets at Home contest. Once registered, print a score card to track how many minutes your children read in a four-week period. After the four week are done, total the number of their reading minutes and submit it to the Blue Jackets.
After submitting the reading minutes, you can enter to win a $529 college savings award from Ohio's 529 Plan to add to or start a CollegeAdvantage Direct 529 Plan. The first Book Jackets at Home winner has already been chosen - Herman Post of Avon Lake, Ohio! A second winner of a $529 college savings award will be chosen after the new submission deadline of 11:59 p.m. Monday, Aug. 31. You can read the rules here.
Take advantage of this opportunity to keep your children's reading skills sharp during summer and enter to win a college saving award for their future. To learn more, explore Ohio's tax-free 529 Plan -The Plan That Can.
