University of Rochester President Sarah Mangelsdorf has announced the search committee members for the University's Executive Vice President for Administration and Finance and Chief Financial Officer (EVP). This critical role reports directly to the president and provides strategic leadership for finance and administrative operations.
The EVP will oversee the planning and management of University finances, providing business and support services to advance the mission and programs of the institution and serving as a steward of its resources. The individual selected for the role will have leadership responsibility for finance (the offices of Budgets and Planning, Controller, Accounts Payable, Financial Reporting and Analysis, Payroll, Sponsored Programs Accounting, and Bursar), internal audit, and treasury management. The position additionally oversees Environmental Health and Safety, Facilities and Services, Auxiliary Operations, Public Safety, and Corporate Purchasing.
Doug Phillips, University Senior Vice President and Chief Investment Officer, is serving as search committee chair, with the following individuals completing the committee:
Also providing guidance throughout the search is the Trustee Advisory Committee. Phillips will also serve on this committee, which includes the following University trustees:
Tony Green, chief of staff to the president, and Tammy Lancy, manager of investment operations, will serve as staff to both committees, which will work closely with the external organizational consulting firm Korn Ferry.
"We are conducting this search on an aggressive timeframe," said Mangelsdorf. "We hope to have the position filled by this summer, but more important than meeting a timeline is ensuring that the search committee secures a diverse pool of outstanding candidates for this critical role.
