Search underway for Executive Vice President for Administration and Finance and CFO

University of Rochester President Sarah Mangelsdorf has announced the search committee members for the University's Executive Vice President for Administration and Finance and Chief Financial Officer (EVP). This critical role reports directly to the president and provides strategic leadership for finance and administrative operations.

The EVP will oversee the planning and management of University finances, providing business and support services to advance the mission and programs of the institution and serving as a steward of its resources. The individual selected for the role will have leadership responsibility for finance (the offices of Budgets and Planning, Controller, Accounts Payable, Financial Reporting and Analysis, Payroll, Sponsored Programs Accounting, and Bursar), internal audit, and treasury management. The position additionally oversees Environmental Health and Safety, Facilities and Services, Auxiliary Operations, Public Safety, and Corporate Purchasing.

Doug Phillips, University Senior Vice President and Chief Investment Officer, is serving as search committee chair, with the following individuals completing the committee:

• Adam Anolik, University of Rochester Medical Center Senior Vice President and CFO
• Brian Brent, Earl B. Taylor Professor, Warner School of Education
• Courtney Jones, Associate Professor, Departments of Emergency Medicine, Orthopaedics, and Public Health Sciences
• Donna Gooden Payne, Vice President and General Counsel
• Roger Smith, Senior Financial Officer, Arts, Sciences & Engineering
• Betsy Ward, Voting Trustee, Chief Financial Officer, MassMutual
• Sevin Yeltekin, Dean, Simon Business School

Also providing guidance throughout the search is the Trustee Advisory Committee. Phillips will also serve on this committee, which includes the following University trustees:

• John Davidson, Chair, Nominations and Board Practices Committee
• Emerson Fullwood, Chair, Audit and Risk Assessment Committee
• Larry Kessler, Chair, Facilities and Campus Planning Committee
• Bob Keegan, Member, Financial Planning Committee
• Kathy Waller, Member, Audit and Risk Assessment Committee; Chair, Financial Planning Committee
• Jay Benet, Member, Financial Planning Committee; Investment Committee

Tony Green, chief of staff to the president, and Tammy Lancy, manager of investment operations, will serve as staff to both committees, which will work closely with the external organizational consulting firm Korn Ferry.
