ZOLL TO SHOWCASE EXPANDED PORTFOLIO OF AEDS AT CARAVAN SALON 2017
August 16, 2017-CHELMSFORD, MASS.-ZOLL Medical Corporation, an Asahi Kasei Group Company that manufactures medical devices and related software solutions, announced today that its expanded portfolio of automated external defibrillators (AEDs) will be on display in Booth D22/Hall 5 during Caravan Salon 2017, 25 August-3 September in Düsseldorf, Germany.
Administering CPR and a shock from an AED, if needed, during the first 10 minutes following sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) are critical to saving someone's life. Campgrounds would do well to ensure campers' safety by adding an AED to their first aid equipment and training staff trained on how to use them.
While only half of SCA victims will initially need a shock, 100% require high-quality CPR. ZOLL offers the only AEDs that support rescuers with integrated real-time text, voice, and visual prompts, as well as feedback on compression depth and rate to administer high-quality CPR.
New to ZOLL's expanding family of AEDs are the ZOLL AED 3™ * and the ZOLL AED 3 BLS* (basic life support). These new AEDs build on ZOLL's legacy of introducing new technology to the AED market to help improve outcomes for SCA patients. Enhanced Real CPR Help gives rescuers the power to know when they are providing high-quality chest compressions. ZOLL has also introduced the CPR Uni-padz™, the world's first 5-year universal electrode for both adult and pediatric patients, further improving cost of ownership. Every ZOLL AED 3 comes with Program Management Onboard™, which can notify users immediately if the device fails a self-test, or if the battery is due to be replaced, ensuring the device is ready to be used.
The ZOLL AED 3 BLS model is designed specifically for the needs of first responders with the CPR Dashboard™ and the ability to deliver the patient record directly to health care providers.

About Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA)
SCA, an abrupt disruption of the heart's function, which causes a lack of blood flow to vital organs, claims more than 1 million lives worldwide each year. It is the leading cause of unexpected death in the world and strikes without warning. Currently, only about 5 percent of victims survive; 95 percent will die from SCA.
