Population’s utility arrears are nearly KZT 15.5 bn

In Kazakhstan, consumers' debt for utilities make KZT 15.4 billion, Kazpravda.kz correspondent quotes the Minister of Industry and Infrastructure Development, Beibut Atamkulov, as saying at the Government meeting.

«Today, the consumers' arrears for utilities is about KZT15.4 billion, on-year increase is KZT 600 million. In 2020, the debt was 14.825 billion tenge,» the Minister said.

He noted that the residents of three cities and two regions turned out to be the most indebted.

«The largest indebtedness remains in Shymkent - 3 billion tenge; Nur-Sultan - 2.9 billion tenge; Almaty - 2.5 billion tenge; as well as Kyzylorda region - 1.2 billion tenge and Mangistau region - 1 billion tenge,» Atamkulov specified.

According to him, in order to pay off and reduce accounts receivable, akimats need to enhance work with debtors.

Prime Minister Askar Mamin instructed to take measures to reduce consumers' debts for utilities and repay the debts of energy producing organizations to fuel suppliers.
