First Deputy Foreign Minister of Belarus S.Aleinik participates in the Belarusian-Indian Political Consultations

On August 2-4, 2022, the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, Sergei Aleinik, is on a visit to the Republic of India.

Within the framework of the visit the seventh round of the Belarusian-Indian Political Consultations were held at the level of deputy foreign ministers. The Indian delegation was led by the Secretary West, Sanjay Verma.

A wide spectrum of issues of Belarusian-Indian relations, as well as cooperation within the framework of international organizations were discussed. The sides also exchanged views on regional and global issues of mutual interests.

A special attention was paid to discussions on prospects for enhancing trade, economic and investment cooperation and to the development of the legal framework.

During the Consultations a solemn commemorative cancellation ceremony of a postage stamp, dedicated to the 30th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Belarus and India, took place.

At the meeting with the Minister of State for External Affairs of the Republic of India, Meenakashi Lekhi, the sides coordinated approaches to the further development of Belarusian-Indian cooperation in political, trade and economic spheres, including preparations for bilateral events.

During the negotiations between S.Aleinik and the Minister of State for Commerce and Industry of the Republic of India, Anupriya Patel, a wide range of issues of economic cooperation between Belarus and India was considered. The sides positively assessed the dynamics of the development of bilateral trade, agreed to intensify work on the implementation of joint projects.

The issues of further development of inter-parliamentary cooperation between the two countries were discussed with the Secretary General of the Parliament of India, Utpal Kumar Singh.

During his stay in New Delhi, S.Aleinik also held negotiations with representatives of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry, the Pharmaceuticals Export Promotion Council of India, the Indian business circles interested in developing cooperation with Belarus in the fields of agriculture, pharmaceuticals, in supplies of Belarusian machinery and sophisticated equipment, high technologies and others.
