NRCC Still Refusing to Acknowledge Extremist Nominee Sandy Smith in NC-01

It's been over a month since the NRCC released their list of On The Radar candidates that snubbed extremist Sandy Smith, and they are still radio silent on their Republican nominee in NC-01. Is their silence an admission that Sandy Smith has no chance against Don Davis in NC-01?

The NRCC has good reason to keep their distance - Sandy Smith has been accused of a pattern of disturbing violence against her family and country. She proudly admits to marching on the Capitol on January 6th, and at home allegedly tried to run over her ex-husband with a car. On top of these violent tendencies, Smith's extremist views and bizarre conspiracy theories will send North Carolinians running in the other direction.

The NRCC may try to keep Sandy Smith at an arm's length, but that doesn't change the truth: Sandy Smith is their Republican nominee in NC-01, and she'll lose to Don Davis in November.

"The NRCC is throwing in the towel on NC-01 because it's a fight they know they'll lose," said DCCC spokesperson Monica Robinson. "Republicans have no chance in this district because voters will reject their nominee, MAGA extremist Sandy Smith, and will send veteran, minister, and small-town mayor Don Davis to Congress this November."
