Lima: “The Tango according to Astor Piazzolla”

The Lima Sociedad Filarmonica, in association with the Italian Cultural Institute presents "The Tango according to Astor Piazzolla" concert at the Santa Ursula Auditorium on 16 July.

The Italian musician Domenico Codispoti has been charged with giving a new interpretation of the tangos of Piazzolla and the components that make up the artistic world of Argentinian music (tango, jazz, folk, baroque and avant-garde music) in the context of a twenty-year association with Andalusian musician Esteban Ocaña who he met in the United States.

Domenico Codispoti was born in Catanzaro and studied in Italy with Bruno Mezzena and in the United States with Joaquín Achúcarro. He has lived in Dallas, London, Granada, Rome, Madrid, and now resides in Valencia. Ha has been hailed by international critics as one of the greatest Italian musical talents of the day, one of the most elegant artists of his generation and as an expert storyteller with no shortage of imagination or inventiveness.
