The sale of Dover Motorsports Inc., including Dover Motor Speedway, to Speedway Motorsports became official in December 2021.

In joining Speedway Motorsports, Dover is now a key part of a company with elite venues from New England to California that host hundreds of auto racing and entertainment events per year.

WHAT IS SPEEDWAY MOTORSPORTS?

  • Speedway Motorsports, LLC is a leading marketer, promoter, sponsor and owner of motorsports venues that hosts NASCAR, IndyCar, NHRA and World of Outlaws events, among others. While Speedway Motorsports was officially incorporated in 1994, its roots date back to Bruton Smith's race promotions in the 1950s and the construction of Charlotte Motor Speedway in 1959.
