Allison Transmission Extends its After-Sales Service Network in Turkey

The new after-sales service offered by Allison Transmission and Bilmak Otomotiv in Ankara will provide service for both defense and commercial vehicles.

ANKARA, Turkey, September 2021 - Allison Transmission, a leading designer and manufacturer of conventional and electrified vehicle propulsion solutions and the largest global manufacturer of medium- and heavy-duty fully automatic transmissions for commercial and defense vehicles, and authorized service dealer, Bilmak Otomotiv, which provides after-sales service in Gaziantep and its region, expanded their collaboration. Bilmak Otomotiv will now provide after-sales service for commercial and defense vehicles equipped with Allison fully automatic transmissions via its new service location in Ankara (excluding cross-drive transmissions for tracked defense vehicles).

Allison Transmission improves its scope of service for both defense and commercial vehicles through Bilmak Otomotiv, a service dealer located in Ankara, by strengthening its after-sales services and customer support network in Turkey through its sole Allison Authorized Distributor, Drive Line Systems Turkey Otomotiv (DLS). This new authorized location, which offers around-the-clock service for Allison fully automatic transmission-equipped vehicles, will increase Allison's presence in Ankara and its region.

"We had a cooperation from the past with our authorized service dealer, Bilmak, located in Gaziantep and we we plan to expand that success with our new service point that will serve in Ankara and its region," said Atak Talas, Allison Transmission Area Director for Turkey and Middle East. "Our new Allison Authorized Service Dealer will meet the needs of fleets equipped with Allison in this region in the best possible way and provide timely, high quality service."

"Allison Transmission was planning to improve its after-sales and service organization in the Central Anatolia region," said Sait Bilgili, Bilmak Otomotiv Chairman of the Board of Directors. "Based on our long-time experience in both defense and commercial vehicles, we have made a new investment to continue our cooperation in this region. As Bilmak Otomotiv, we currently offer maintenance and repair service for most of the Allison transmission- equipped vehicle population in Gaziantep and its region. We also provide service support for defense operations both in the field and in the operational area. Through the investment that we have made in Ankara for Allison fully automatic transmissions, we will continue to provide our services in Ankara and its region."

Allison, the world's largest manufacturer of fully automatic transmissions for medium and heavy duty commercial vehicles, is preferred in commercial vehicle applications in various areas, from public transport and construction, to fire and emergency, and waste collection. It stands out as the primary choice for vehicle manufacturers who support defense applications. Various advantages such as high performance and efficiency, driver comfort and low maintenance and repair costs stand out as common advantages of Allison transmissions. However, regardless of the field of activity, after-sales service is of vital importance.

Allison fully automatic transmissions are highly appreciated worldwide for their low maintenance and repair needs and high performance. As a torque converter is used instead of a mechanical clutch, no clutch wear and less powertrain damage are observed. Routine oil change and filter replacements are sufficient for Allison fully automatic transmissions. Allison Authorized service locations provide comprehensive support as they are outfitted with specialized tools and equipment and have teams of trained and certified technicians. In all the required maintenance and repair work, Allison Authorized Dealers help customers maximize their vehicle uptime through efficient diagnostics and reduced logistics at service locations.
