THE 14TH MEETING OF THE JOINT COMMISSION FOR BILATERAL COOPERATION AND 5 TH MEETING OF THE COMMITTEE ON THE JOINT DEVELOPMENT STRATEGY FOR BORDER AREAS (JDS) BETWEEN MALAYSIA AND THE KINGDOM OF THAILAND BANGKOK, THAILAND, 9-10 AUGUST 2022

Minister of Foreign Affairs, YB Dato' Sri Saifuddin Abdullah will lead the Malaysian delegation to the 14th Meeting of the Joint Commission for Bilateral Cooperation (JC) and the 5 th Meeting of the Committee on the Joint Development Strategy for Border Areas (JDS) in Bangkok, Thailand on 9 and 10 August 2022.

These meetings will be co-chaired by YB Dato' Sri Saifuddin Abdullah and his counterpart, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, His Excellency Don Pramudwinai and would be preceded by the Senior Officials Meetings (SOM) on 9 August 2022.

Both Foreign Ministers will review the progress of bilateral cooperation programmes. Among the areas that would be discussed include, political and security cooperation, trade and investment, social, cultural, and cooperation at the border areas, including connectivity projects. Both sides are also expected to explore new areas of cooperation namely in digital economy and cybersecurity.

YB Dato' Sri Saifuddin Abdullah is also scheduled to hold a bilateral meeting with His Excellency Don Pramudwinai, followed by a courtesy call on the Prime Minister of Thailand, His Excellency General Prayut Chan-o-cha.
