Nashville Health Care Council Board Taps Brookdale CEO for Vice Chair

The Nashville Health Care Council (NHCC) has announced its board of directors for 2021-22, which includes appointing Brookdale President and CEO Cindy Baier as vice chair of the board. Baier was already a member of the NHCC board. In this new role, Baier will help drive the NHCC's continuing work to encourage and facilitate collaboration among healthcare executives throughout the area.

'Serving on the Council's Executive Committee has allowed me to see first-hand the commitment that exists to work together to foster innovation and improve outcomes,' said Baier. As the leader of the nation's largest senior living company, Baier said, 'We, ourselves, have long recognized the important role senior living plays in the healthcare continuum and we were already down the path of increasing our connections to the larger healthcare system. The pandemic put a spotlight on senior living and allowed everyone to understand how much of what we do is related to the health and wellbeing of our residents and patients.'

Baier's term as vice chair is a two-year appointment. The NHCC was formed in 1995 to improve healthcare by serving as a catalyst for leadership and innovation.
