Helsinki to test advance e-tickets at the Kumpula Outdoor Swimming Pool and HAM Helsinki Art Museum

10.07.2020 13:56

The sale of advance tickets will start at Kumpula Outdoor Swimming Pool on Monday 6 July at noon. You can buy a single ticket for the Sunday mornings of 12 and 19 July. On these two Sundays, the advance tickets permit entry between 9 and 10 am. The recommended swimming time at Kumpula is two hours, and you can buy tickets at the Kumpula Outdoor Swimming Pool webstore. Twenty free admissions will be raffled among those who buy advance tickets to the Kumpula Outdoor Swimming Pool.

Advance tickets to Kumpula Outdoor Swimming Pool offer stress-free mornings to families with children, for example, because those with advance tickets are entitled to enter the pool without waiting in line. Up to five adults' and children's single tickets may be purchased at a time. There are three types of advance tickets: adults' tickets (5 euros), children's tickets for 7-17-year-olds (2.5 euros) and children's tickets for 0-6-year-olds (0 euros), which must nevertheless be bookedin the webstore if the party includes children under the age of six.

The sale of advance tickets to Kumpula Outdoor Swimming Pool is a short-term pilot project carried out to collect customer feedback for the development of online payments in sports services. Any continuation of the pilot will be notified later on.

Advance tickets to HAM Helsinki Art Museum can be purchased for the desired dates starting from Wednesday 8 July at 10 am on the HAM website. The first available date to use the tickets is Wednesday 15 July. The tickets are valid during museum opening hours from Tuesday to Sunday 11 am-7 pm. You can purchase up to nine tickets at a time. Advance ticket holders are eligible for a 15 per cent discount on one purchase of normal-priced products in the HAM shop.

The development of the advance ticket sales was accelerated by the exceptional circumstances this spring. At HAM, the thought of a webstore had already been discussed earlier in connection with the Helsinki Biennial, which was postponed to summer 2021. At Kumpula, the exceptional circumstances this spring created a need to control the number of people at the pool to ensure the ability to maintain safe distances.

The online payment experiment is an exceptionally quick and agile pilot project by the City of Helsinki Culture and Leisure Division and part of the Division's digitalisation programme. The development work is used to collect data and user feedback for the future, because Helsinki wants to become the world's most functional city for culture and leisure time. This project is made possible with the help of our cooperation partners, the online trade supplier Eventilla and payment transaction service provider Bambora.
