The Central Bank of Barbados will remain closed to in-person business during the week of April 19. This is to facilitate the ongoing clean-up of the volcanic ash that has affected the island since the eruption of the La Soufière volcano in early April.

Despite the closure of its headquarters, however, the Bank is assuring the public that it can continue to do business with the organisation electronically, as many of its staff are working remotely.

Exchange control application forms and supporting documentation should be sent to [email protected].

Persons wishing to confirm exchange rates for Customs and Excise purposes should email their query, accompanied by the relevant documentation to [email protected]. That address should also be used for treasury-related matters, while investment managers should send their correspondence to [email protected]. General queries should be directed to [email protected]

The Bank's thoughts continue to be with the people of St. Vincent and the Grenadines, and it also encourages all Barbadians to be safe as they continue their own clean-up efforts.
