More than 400 servicemen of the combined Russian-Belarusian paratroopers unit and 39 pieces of equipment parachuted from Il-76MD military transport aircraft and entered the battle at the Brestsky training ground in the Republic of Belarus during the joint strategic exercise Zapad-2021.

After the capture of the site and landing, the units were fixed on the line of defence designated by the command.

A battalion of guards paratroopers of the Pskov airborne assault unit, having made a flight from the Kresty take-off airfield at a distance of more than 1 thousand kilometers, landed from a height of 600 meters using D-10 parachute systems.

Servicemen of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus loaded equipment and personnel into planes at the Machulishchi airfield near Minsk and joined the formation of MTA aircraft on approach to the ejection point. Using D-6 parachutes, the units of the Belarusian paratroopers landed at the designated landing point. The departure of the ship's commands of the aircraft was carried out with an interval of one minute.

During the active phase of the exercise, paratroopers from Russia and Belarus worked out amphibious assault operations at the Brest training ground. After the landing of personnel and equipment, the guards destroyed the mock enemy and, holding favorable lines, ensured the successful actions of the main group of troops (forces).

The actions of the combined airborne unit blocked three bridges across the section of the water barrier, which did not allow the mock enemy to interfere with the actions of the troops and ensure the deployment of motorized rifle units in the interests of the grouping of troops at the training ground.
