Bob Livingston to hold songwriting workshop and Black Box concert May 21-22

Singer-songwriter Bob Livingston will host the 10th Annual Lewisville Grand Songwriting Workshop on Saturday, May 21, and then perform an intimate Black Box Songwriter Series show on Sunday, May 22, at Lewisville Grand Theater, 100 N. Charles Street.

LEWISVILLE GRAND SONGWRITING WORKSHOP

The workshop runs 10 a.m.-6 p.m. During the workshop, Livingston will lead the group in a collaborative effort to write a new song. The afternoon will conclude with breakout groups tackling a songwriting prompt and question and answers session.

Tickets for the workshop are $55 and available for purchase at lewisvillegrand.com/tix. A catered lunch is included in that ticket price.

BLACK BOX SONGWRITER SERIES CONCERT

Livingston is a founding member of Austin's legendary Lost Gonzo Band. During his Black Box Songwriter Series show, Sunday, May 22, 6:30 p.m., Livingston will take the audience on a wild and colorful ride down the rutted roads of his extensive musical history.

The Black Box Songwriter Series features singer-songwriters in an intimate, listening-room setting. Since its inception in 2015, the series has attracted a variety of celebrated songwriters. Both newcomers and veteran songwriters have played the series and given fans a chance to hear incredible songs and the stories behind them.

The Grand is Lewisville's home for the arts. It presents a variety of regional and national touring performers, art exhibits, and classes, while also giving the many arts groups in the greater Lewisville area a facility to perform and display their works. Its multiple performance spaces play host to a variety of events, including live music, theater, dance performances, comedy shows, and more. The center features the 294-seat Huffines Performance Hall, black box theater, recital hall, art gallery, and courtyard.

To reach The Grand from Interstate 35E, take exit 452 and proceed east on Main Street to Charles Street. The Grand will be on the left. Free public parking is available along Main and Church streets, or at Lewisville City Hall across Church Street from the center.
