The YAI 470/49er/Nacra Open Championship 2022 was conducted at Indian Naval Watermanship Training Centre INWTC Mumbai from 19 to 24 May 2022 in 10 Olympic classes of boats. 84 participants from 12 prominent sailing clubs registered for the event. The event was a Ranking Event and Asian Games selection trials for forming the Indian squad for the Asian Games, and was conducted under the aegis of Yachting Association of India YAI and lndian Naval Sailing Association INSA. 74 races were conducted in the sailing area off INWTC Mumbai. Commodore Superintendent, Sea Cadet Corps, Shri Rabi Ahuja was the Chief guest for the closing ceremony and gave away medals to the first three positions in each class. The Navy Sailing Team continued its good performance on heels of last YAI ranking event by winning two gold (one each in Nacra17 and 470 classes), one silver (in 470 class) and one bronze medal (in 49er class).
