Missile cruisers detachment deployed in the Barents Sea as part of the exercise of the mixed forces of the Northern Fleet

Today, a group of missile cruisers has been deployed as part of a bilateral test-case exercise of mixed forces of the Northern Fleet to protect the Arctic borders of the Russian Federation from threats from sea areas, which began on June 7 in the Barents Sea.

The ship's strike group, consisting of the Pyotr Veliky heavy nuclear missile cruiser and the Marshal Ustinov missile cruiser, entered the Northern Fleet's combat training grounds in accordance with the exercise plan.

In the near future, the crews of the cruisers as part of the ship's strike group will practice the organization of all types of defence, interaction with aviation and other tactical groups operating at sea.

The main and final stage of the exercise will be the conduct of live firing by the crews of ships of the grouping of dissimilar forces, the performance of a number of test combat exercises with the use of practical weapons.

Currently, the military personnel of coastal formations, more than 20 warships and submarines, about 10 aircraft and helicopters are involved in the bilateral test tactical exercise of the mixed forces of the Northern Fleet.
