MoU Signing Between Government of Maldives & World Bank “Sustainable & Integrated Labor Services (SAILS) Project”

Under the Government's Strategic Action Plan, an MoU was signed between the Government of Maldives and the World Bank to introduce an Unemployment Insurance Scheme and Active Labor Market Services to Maldivian workers through the "Sustainable & Integrated Labor Services (SAILS)" project.

The agreement was signed on 4^th July 2022 by the Minister of Finance, H.E. Ibrahim Ameer on behalf of the Maldivian government and by the World Bank Country Director for Maldives, H.E. Faris H. Hadad-Zervos on behalf of the World Bank."

Under this project an "unemployment insurance benefit scheme" and "employment services" will be provided. This project will also expand on the current services given by Job Center under the Ministry of Economic Development, by improving services and creating access to Job Centers across the country.
