Jefferson, OH - The Ashtabula County Commissioners and the Sheriff's Department announced the donation of two cruisers to Ashtabula County Technical & Career Campus (A-Tech), providing students with hands-on experience in law enforcement vehicle maintenance.
The donation ceremony, held at the Ashtabula County Technical and Career Campus, was attended by the Board of Commissioners, Sheriff Niemi, educators, and enthusiastic students eager to embark on their automotive education journey.
"We are thrilled to be a part of the effort in enhancing the educational experience of students interested in automotive technology. This is providing them with the tools they need to succeed in the industry," said Board President Kathryn Whittington.
The cruisers will serve as essential training resources for students enrolled in A-Tech's automotive learning courses, allowing them to gain practical skills and insights into automotive diagnostics, repair, and maintenance.
"The cruisers will not only serve as learning aids for A-Tech students but also offer a unique opportunity to explore the intersection of automotive technology and law enforcement," said Vice-President J.P. Ducro.
Students will have the chance to work hands-on with law enforcement vehicles, gaining practical experience in vehicle maintenance and repair while learning about the specialized equipment and technology used in police cruisers.
"The donation aligns with Ashtabula County's commitment to education and workforce development that prepare them for rewarding careers in the automotive industry," said Commissioner Casey Kozlowski.
