UMaine Athletics 2021-22 Top 10 Moments: No. 4 Women’s Basketball appears in AE title game for seventh consecutive season; Simon named AE Player and Defensive Player of the Year
ORONO, Maine - The University of Maine athletic department will be highlighting the top moments of the 2021-22 season. The moments will run on all our social media pages over the upcoming weeks.
Simon became the eighth player in the history of the program to earn the league's Player of the Year honor and the fourth to earn the Defensive Player of the Year honor.
Simon also be-comes just the fifth player in the history of the league to earn both Player and Defensive Player of the Year in the same season and the first since did so in each of the past two seasons.

The University of Maine women's basketball team mades its conference leading 21st appearance in the America East championship game, and seventh in the last seven years.
