ANNAPOLIS, Md. - Bucknell women's swimming & diving records fell in two events on the opening night of the 2018 Patriot League Championships at Navy's Lejeune Hall.
The 800 freestyle relay team of Abigail Rosenberg, Emily Gorham, Lindsay Smalec and Katherine O'Shea clocked in at 7:22.03 to place fourth. Their time was more than two seconds faster than Bucknell's previous school record, which was recorded at the 2014 Patriot League championship meet.
Rosenberg swam a blistering first leg. She shaved .59 of a second off of the school record she set at last year's Patriot League Championships, touching the wall in 1:48.29.
The Bison were disqualified in the 200 medley relay, the only other event of the night. With 30 points, they are currently slotted in 10th place. Navy (80), Lehigh (64) and Army West Point (62) are the top three teams.
The Patriot League Championships continue tomorrow. Preliminaries begin at 10 a.m. with the finals following at 6 p.m.
