4/9/2021

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

A dispute between two security guards at a construction site at 5800 Centennial Boulevard late Thursday night left one of them shot and hospitalized and the other jailed on a charge of aggravated assault.

Christopher Hill, 37, and Gary Ellis, 65, argued prior to Hill driving off for a short time. Hill came back, pulled up to the gate and stopped. Ellis then fired his shotgun, which contained birdshot, at Hill. He received non-life threatening injuries to his shoulder/neck area. Ellis remained at the scene, was interviewed by West Precinct detectives, and arrested.

A witness reported hearing Ellis say that he would shoot Hill if he returned.

Bond for Ellis is set at $75,000.
