NOTICE TO THE PUBLIC AND REQUEST FOR INFORMATION
LAS 34963
NATIVE VILLAGE OF EYAK

Subject to AS 38.05.850, the Southcentral Regional Land Office has received an application for the following:

APPLICANT: NATIVE VILLAGE OF EYAK

PROJECT NAME: LAS 34963

GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION: Located on the eastern submerged lands of Orca Inlet, approx. one quarter mile from the mouth of Humpback Creek and 5.5 miles north-northeast of Cordova.

LEGAL DESCRIPTION: NE1/4NW1/4 Section 36, Township 14 South, Range 3 West, Copper River Meridian

REQUESTED ACTIVITY: Applicant Native Village of Eyak is requesting a permit to place a 120-foot by 10-foot temporary floating dock in Orca Inlet in support of loading/off-loading personnel associated with the Shepard Point Oil Spill Response Facility project in Cordova. The dock would be secured by six Spudwell anchors and would be in place during construction season and removed during the off-season. No fuel would be stored on the dock.

PROPOSED DATES OF USE:
Start: May 2024
End: April 2028

DEADLINE FOR COMMENTS: May 9, 2024

The public is invited to comment on this activity. The purpose of this notice is to gather input before a decision is made on this activity. To ensure consideration, written comments must be received by the Division of Mining, Land and Water at the Southcentral Regional Land Office, 550 W. 7th Ave., Suite 900C, Anchorage, AK 99501-3577 on or before 5:00 PM on the date noted above. After review and adjudication, we may issue an authorization with stipulations for the activity. The activity may be modified during the review and adjudication process.
