May museum programs explore spring

A young child learns about butterflies at a family event at the UA Museum of the North. The museum will focus on the signs of spring during May.
Family programs at the University of Alaska Museum of the North will explore the theme of spring in May.
Junior Curators, designed for children ages 6 and older with an adult, will be held on Saturday, May 4, from 2 to 4 p.m. Drop in anytime to learn to identify butterflies and create a model butterfly collection, explore signs of spring, see and touch museum objects, and try a scavenger hunt.
Families with children ages 5 and under are invited to drop in at Early Explorers on Friday, May 10, from 10 a.m. to noon. Create and discover with hands-on activities in the Creativity Lab, and explore the galleries.
These programs are included with admission and are free for members.
