Engineering units of the Russian peacekeeping forces in Nagorno-Karabakh continue the work on demining the area

The specialists of the International Mine Action Centre of the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation continue work on demining the territory.

In the course of demining and cleaning the outskirts of Stepanakert, Russian peacekeepers use modern Uran 6 robotic systems, which allow ensuring the safety of servicemen during explosive work and maintaining a high rate of cleaning the area in any weather conditions.

Since November 23, 2020, during the operation, engineering units of the Russian peacekeeping forces have cleared almost 479.2 hectares of territory, about 182.8 km of roads, 710 housing buildings, including 22 socially significant objects, and more 23 thousand explosive objects.

Discovered explosive objects and unexploded ammunition are removed and destroyed at a specially equipped landfill. Ammunition that cannot be evacuated is destroyed on the spot with all necessary safety measures provided during blasting operations.

In accordance with the agreements specified in the joint statement of the President of the Russian Federation, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, a complete cease-fire and all military operations in Nagorno-Karabakh were declared from 00: 00 Moscow time on November 10 this year.

With the assistance of Russian peacekeepers, the restoration of vital engineering communications continues in the areas affected by the war.
