Bessemer Venture Partners, Fifth Wall and Jona Capital Further Existing Commitment, Enabling WiredScore To Double Down On Its Mission Of Making The World's Buildings Smarter and Better Connected

WiredScore, the company setting the global standard for technology in the built world through education and certification via WiredScore and SmartScore, has today announced it has raised US$15M in Series B funding, led by Beringea with key participation from notable strategic and venture fund investors including Cushman & Wakefield, Crow Holdings, and Taronga Ventures, in addition to core returning investors Fifth Wall, Bessemer Venture Partnersand Jona Capital. This round brings WiredScore's total funds raised to date to a noteworthy $28M. Capital from this round will be aimed at further accelerating WiredScore's fundamental vision of becoming recognized and trusted as the leading voice for tech in the built world.

"The future will happen in buildings, with the most pressing challenges of our time-widespread access to great connectivity, carbon reduction, health and wellness, cyber security-being addressed through in-building technology. This future is not achievable without empowering the individuals responsible for buildings to implement tech in such a way that it will have a lasting impact," shared Arie Barendrecht, WiredScore CEO & Founder.

"The building standards we provide serve as the North Star for the real estate industry. We are confident that these strategic partnerships and infusion of capital will propel us to further empower the built world and those who occupy it, enabling us to reach our goal for one billion people to live and work in connected, smart buildings over the next decade," continued Barendrecht.

The news follows a year of aggressive expansion for WiredScore, both domestically and internationally. Most notably, the company entered into the multifamily market in June 2021 with the launch of WiredScore Home in North America, helping residential developers and owners improve and bring greater transparency to connectivity in their buildings.

In addition, the company has expanded into 13 new countries, boosting its presence across Northern and Central Eastern Europe as well as debuting in APAC with the opening of its Singapore office. Most recently, WiredScore launched its Accredited Professionals Program within North America and the UK with companies including CBRE, Cushman & Wakefield, JLL, Lendlease as well as Savills. The program, which equips individuals with the skills needed to best advise their clients on delivering profound, world-class connectivity and smart tech, currently boasts in excess of 650 professionals from over 275 companies.

Over the next 24 months, WiredScore plans to expand its geographic footprint across North America and APAC as part of its mission of making the world's buildings smart and better connected.

Eyal Malinger, Partner at Beringea, commented: "WiredScore has firmly established itself as a leader in the real estate industry for prioritizing and enhancing a tech-enabled approach. There is a current, very real problem facing the sector: developers, consultants, and real estate owners are desperate to make buildings smart, well-connected and competitive, but there are few common frameworks for evaluating these attributes which is hampering innovation globally."

Elie Finegold, Managing Director, Crow Holdings: "There is a tremendous opportunity in the real estate industry, as consumer habits and expectations change - especially in the multifamily sector, where the prevalence of 'work from home' has made connectivity a critical consideration of owners and tenants, alike. We are proud to be partnering with WiredScore to help them on their journey toward placing technology at the heart of the built environment."

"We are excited to be a part of this journey with WiredScore and to have our people join the Accredited Professionals Program, which enables Cushman & Wakefield to provide world-class services to our clients by drawing on global best practices for in-building technology," said Oliver Skagerlind, Global Head of Client & Business Solutions at Cushman & Wakefield. "Through this relationship, we can support our employees and clients in staying on the cutting edge of advancements in technology that are transforming real estate. We look forward to expanding on our success in Europe to offer the program to Cushman & Wakefield colleagues around the world."
