Winning Car from the Dakar Rally Rolls into Elmia Lastbil 2022

In addition to displaying the Dakar Rally winning vehicle, Allison Transmission to exhibit its electrified propulsion solutions at the Elmia Lastbil trade show in Jönköping.

JÖNKÖPING, Sweden, July 6, 2022 - Allison Transmission, a leading designer and manufacturer of conventional and electrified vehicle propulsion solutions for medium- and heavy duty commercial vehicles, is showcasing its new electric axle, Allison eGen Power®, as well as the Dakar Rally winning vehicle at Elmia Lastbil, Sweden's largest trade fair for transport, distribution and logistics, in Jönköping.

"It's incredibly fun that it's finally time for the fair again. It's always nice to meet customers and acquaintances in the industry, but it's something extra when it's at Elmia Lastbil. This year we are able to not only show the benefits of our propulsion solutions, but we will also have the winning car from the Dakar Rally in our stand B05:30. I think it will be spectacular," said Mats Hallgren, Area Sales Manager Nordics at Allison Transmission.

The car from Dakar Rally is equipped with a fully automatic transmission from Allison. Reliability and endurance are two major factors behind the choice of transmission - factors that are highly required on the rally's tough and challenging distances.

"The Dakar Rally is not as much about speed as most other competitions, but more about endurance and power. Therefore, the car we have with us for Elmia Lastbil is a perfect example of how to ensure durability, endurance, and reliability with our transmissions," said Hallgren.

Allison will also showcase Allison eGen Power, emission-free electric axles for medium-heavy and heavy transport.

"We see that electrification is highly valued in the market and of course we want to remain at the forefront. With our latest product series, eGen Power, we can put ourselves in the driver's seat when it comes to leading the charge into the future of commercial electric vehicle drive. We always look ahead and listen to the market - and this is just one step in that direction," said Hallgren.

Allison Transmission can be found at Elmia Lastbil 24-27 August in stand B05:30.
