Hospital and health system jobs fall by nearly 4,000 in November

Employment at hospitals and health systems decreased by nearly 4,000 jobs in November, as U.S. jobs overall increased by 210,000, according to preliminary data released today by the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Health care jobs overall increased by more than 2,000 to just over 16 million (seasonally adjusted). Many health care service providers saw increases, including physicians' and dentists' offices, while hospitals and nursing and residential care facilities saw decreases. Hospitals and health systems remain nearly 100,000 jobs below their pre-pandemic February 2020 peak.
